A HOMAGE TO THE SIMPSONS
I started watching the Simpsons pretty much from when they started showing it in the UK. The first episode I saw was the one where the family attend Mr Burns's employee picnic for his birthday and end up going to Dr Marvin Monroe's clinic for help, and electrocuting each other. Homer pawns the TV to get the money with Dr Monroe's double your money back guarantee in mind. Needless to say the Doctor fails and the Simpson double their money.
I wasn't that impressed by the episode and Dr Monroe really annoyed me. It led to the commercial starring Bart and Dr Monroe, listen to how annoying his voice is.
I have a few quotes from the episode that are pretty funny though.
HOMER : Quick, Bart give me a kiss
BART : Kiss you? But, Dad, I'm your kid
HOMER : Bart, please. Five bucks for a kiss
MR BURNS : And you must be... Brat
BART : Bart
HOMER : Don't correct the man Brat
MR BURNS : And make yourself at home
BART : Hear that Dad? You can lie around in your underwear and scratch yourself
Homer to God : You're everywhere, you're omnivorous
Bart saying Grace : Rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub
The Simpsons has come along way since then, the characters are a lot funnier and the focus has switched from cheeky Bart to the clumsy Homer as the main character.
